Avalon Hill's "Guadacanal" was given to me as a Christmas present when I was 12. I then got a subscription to S&T when I was in High School and got more involved in the hobby.

Personal Interests (favorite activities, movies, shows, books, music, etc.)
I love music. I play music (drums) as well as listen to it. I spent ten years playing in local rock bands in the 70's and 80's and I am looking to begin playing in a band again when I retire from the USPS.
I love to read. My favorite books are the Flashman series by George McDonal Fraser and the Master and Commander series by Patrick O'Brian.
And of course I love music. Among my favorite artists are: Tom Waits, UFO (Michael Schenker era), Mott the Hoople, The J. Geils Band (the early years, not the commercial version), Faces, Be Bop Deluxe, AC/DC (Bon Scott era), Ian Hunter, Joe Walsh, Alice Cooper, and Elton John (1970-1976).
