Hi Tom (and John H... and everyone else I'd missed). The Austerlitz scenario designer posted some jump maps over at this thread at the Napoleonics Wargaming Club.

Profile Information

Your introduction to consim gaming:
War at Sea, but from a drug store on Main Street in Geneva Illinois when I was in 8th Grade - try buying a wargame at a pharmacy anymore. It seemed to go pretty well with my collection of Airfix figures, plastic models, and books - always the books...

Anyways that was a long time ago and many many game titles back.

Since time and space had gotten to be a consideration I found a happy medium in computer gaming- well, turn based, hex and counter wargames on the computer at- say a grand tactical scale - and then had to calculate what the things would entail if they were printed on paper....

I was a playtester for HPS Sims' game, The Renaissance.
Your favorite game(s):
My gaming seemed to be cyclical -I'm not sure I have one favorite game, but maybe more like a range of games per historical period. Generally speaking, though, I am a monster game addict -not those phony ones that claim they are monsters because they cover a big subject area (on like, what- 3 maps?!) - nah, they gotta have like 9 maps and a few thousand counters....
What game(s) are you currently playing (solitaire, FTF, PBEM, etc.) or wish to play next?
PBEM - always with the PBEM?!
What game(s) have you played recently?
Currently I am heavily involved in playing HPS Sims' Civil War series - currently ( well maybe, maybe not -as I don't know that I will be motivated to keep this current :D ) I am playing matches in Campaign Corinth, Campaign Gettysburg, Campaign Chickamauga, and Campaign Franklin, Normandy '44, El Alamein '42, and Ren (for good measure). I got completely routed in Campaign Peninsula not too long ago ...

Also I have matches going in the Panzer Campaigns Series- in the Compass '40 mod for El Alamein, and a campaign going in Normandy '44; as well as a campaign in Market-Garden '44. I recently got drubbed in a match at Anzio but did decently in one of the scenarios in Moscow '41.
In general, how much time do you spend gaming?
Too much ...
How big is your game collection?
Dunno - whatever it says on my BGG profile is close.
About Me
Born and raised in the Chicago suburbs; I spent 16 years in Kansas City working for SSA, before moving to Australia. Used to play in rec ice hockey leagues -but it is just too damned expensive here (as in - over A$1000 per year plus they hit you up for A$13-15.00 per game and then try to get you to sell candy as fundraisers because it *still* isn't enough for them... oh, and they don't do drop-ins (as people might get the idea that they don't need the BS A$1000+ per year "league" -and don't get me started on the level of play already... (think 5 year old soccer camp where a big furball follows the ball - in this case puck) and no one has a clue what a position is (ugh).
Personal Interests (favorite activities, movies, shows, books, music, etc.)
One of my minor hobbies, is web design, of which I am concurrently working on 2 projects at the moment (possibly soon to be 3). I also enjoy image editing, as well as photography. While I enjoy the Colbert Report, and the Daily Show, I also understand Robot Chicken in a strange way...

Military history hobbies are a big thing for me... yes, I collect 1:6th scale figures (or rather collected them until they started rehashing the same figures over and over again... I consider it a form of model making), I also enjoy naval wargaming miniatures, as well as plastic modelling (when I find the time, which according to my own figures - I haven't actually started, let alone completed, a model since about 1998 -- it was a 1:35th scale German Pz I command tank ... I might get to it someday)....

I enjoy reading and building up my own private library.

I've found the internal debate (i.e. the debate in my head) has been to either play a lot of games poorly or a few games well. I prefer the latter model, but then you must, as you say, find that set of holy grail games that one chooses to become goo…

Chris: Really - that's a good point. I wonder if the Audi folks realized the message they were sending out with this one. I doubt if anyone found it funny in the least. Smitty

I've recently printed and built "To the Last Man." I was able to play the game and get an idea of its look and feel beforehand thanks to BGG and Cyberboard. It's an excellent game, one well worth the bother. I _hope_ it is just by unfortunate accid…
