About Me
I am an electrical engineer. I lived in Montreal until 1996 when I moved to Calgary to work in th oil patch. I started wargaming in the late 70’s with AH and SPI games. My father’s cousin introduced me to gaming and gave me his entire collection in the early to mid 80’s. The titles were all AH and SPI. I then gave everything away (in 1989 approximately) a few months after I got married to a young wargamer in Montreal whose name was Carl if I remember correctly. I had two dozen or so AH titles (Gettysburg, Africakorps (2 copies), Stalingrad, Alexander the Great, Alesia, Panzer Leader, Panzer Blitz, Third Reich, Russian Campaing (2 copies), Russian Front, War at Sea, Victory in the Pacific, Magic Realm, Tobruk, Luftwaffe, Crete (not sure if I have the title right for this one), the sister game to Russian Campaing which came out a few years later but about the Western front (I don’t remember the name), 1776, War of the Roses, and I don’t remember if there were others. There was also a block game called 1759 about the battle of Quebec and a bunch of SPI games for which I don’t remember the titles.
I miss the games and sometimes regret giving them all away but it was probably the right thing to do since I wanted to pay more attention to my new wife than to my wargames. And I had nobody to play with. All my friends found the games too complicated and too long to play.
Now that I have been married 30 years and that all my kids have all grown up and left home I have had an opportunity to look into wargaming a bit again.
Personal Interests (favorite activities, movies, shows, books, music, etc.)
