"As a fan of this series as well, I too would like to know where the Vassal mods are for the original three games? I can't find them under either their titles or the VITW series name or acronym. Please advise. Thanks! Tom"

Profile Information

Your introduction to consim gaming:
I discovered wargaming at an early age. My parents were both Civil War fanatics. And my father bought Gettysburg '64 during our centennial Civil War vacations. I just remember being mesmerized by it all.
Your favorite game(s):
GCACW - Can't claim to have any single favorite as every game in this amazing series is fantastic.
OCS - I have enjoyed Tunisia and DAK. Can't wait to break out Blitzkrieg Legend.
Devil's Cauldron - What a great system. I only initially pre-ordered this game because I saw that the game system for this title was a strong adaptation of Eric Lee Smith's, Panzer Command which I had loved back in the '80's. Turns out to have been a great move.
VG's The Civil War - Yet another Eric Lee Smith game, and a personal favorite in my collection.
What game(s) are you currently playing (solitaire, FTF, PBEM, etc.) or wish to play next?
Wacht Am Rheim (2012); CWB; Over There
What game(s) have you played recently?
Three Battles of Manassas
The Killing Ground/Overlord
In general, how much time do you spend gaming?
10 hours p/week
How big is your game collection?
290 games
Your local game club(s) and/or where you reside (let's network!)
We have a Milwaukee-based bi-weekly game club which consists of five, middle-aged core members. We have varied tastes and interests, but we stick to monster games almost exclusively. We love gaming and although we love the competition and winning, we celebrate good sportsmanship all the way... well... most of the time anyway.
About Me
I work as a freelance sound recordist in the film and TV industry. I am also a produced screenwriter, filmmaker and documentarian.
Personal Interests (favorite activities, movies, shows, books, music, etc.)
Wargaming; Military History (especially Civil War)

I honestly consider TCS to be the best tactical system out there (in terms of "realism"--or perceived realism might be a more accurate term).  OCS is the best operational system out there by far; I can't go back to playing EUROPA now because of it.  EFS is fun but does not have the incredible versatility that OCS does.

Yeah, I love Civil War too and just don't get to play all that much of it.  VG's CIVIL WAR is also a favorite.  I am a huge fan of the CWBS and have the RSS games...and am looking forward to the LoB revision that comes out.  Got to watch the new rules in a playtest of Essig's take on Antietam a couple of years ago at PrezCon.  Sure, I'll play the GBACW series by GMT, but RSS is my favorite system because of the command rules.

I get to play ASL and ASLSK off and on.  Am planning to foray into Stonne in Critical Hit's module on that place in a couple of weeks.  Love the early war stuff, particularly the French!

Welcome to CONSIMWORLD Social Website, Thomas!  Your favorite games are some of mine as well.  Indeed, I got a chance to play THE DEVIL'S CAULDRON, Intermediate Scenario #1 "Race to the Bridge" at MMP's WINTER OFFENSIVE 2011 a week ago.  Have you played any of the really big OCS games?  Which GCACW title is your favorite?
