"Recently got back to a weekly (more or less) game night at my house having gotten my game room partially put back together after 'an incident' :-)
We played the original AH We The People by Mark Herman for our first game. I was…"
While out Christmas shopping as a young child in 1975, saw War at Sea in a hobby store. Spent my carefully saved gift money ($5) on it. So got started playing Avalon Hill games, my friend that I got to playing games then started buying SPI stuff.
P.S. I'm trying to gather all the gamers in uniform to one place, so put out the word and we'll all gather at my place.

That's amazing! I assume you mean he said "just outside of Jefferson City"?
Scott and his wife own the B&B here in Bonnots Mill. I have tried to engage him on the topic of gaming, but he didn't seem real interested in getting anything going. I'm a board guy and he's a minis guy - maybe he assumed that I wouldn't be interested. I've gamed minis a few times at a friend's house, and it's fun but I wouldn't want to start buying stuff.
The Westin in Columbus is the nicest hotel in Columbus in my opinion. I'm certain it has a history; I just don't know what it is. It is one of the few hotels near the convention center where Origins is held that does NOT sell out. I think b.c it is "too nice" (?)
The Westin also does not hold a block of rooms for Origins guests b.c I think they also don't want to "attract THAT TYPE of guest", if you follow my drift.
We're very proud of him. He was kind of a lost soul and realized college wasn't for him. (Only took him 4 years or so!) It will be 2 years for him in May, and it has been one of the best decisions he has ever made.
