Profile Information

Your introduction to consim gaming:
A typical origin story pushing around pieces solo as a kid with Squad Leader, Midway and other Avalon Hill classics. It wasn't until late middle school that I found some historically minded familiars...I swear we played Axis and Allies 72 hours straight one time.
Your favorite game(s):
ASL, Great Campaigns of the American Civil War, Great Battles of History, Musket & Pike, La Bataille, BAR, Civil War Brigade, OCS, SCS, Pacific War, Siege of Jerusalem, Zucker's Napoleonics, Jours De Gloire, Men of Iron Series
What game(s) are you currently playing (solitaire, FTF, PBEM, etc.) or wish to play next?
Roads to Gettysburg II, Atlanta Is Ours, No Better Place To Die, Star Wars Rebellion, ASL
What game(s) have you played recently?
The US Civil War, Unconditional Surrender, Guilford Courthouse, Eutaw Springs
How big is your game collection?
400+
Your local game club(s) and/or where you reside (let's network!)
Park Ridge, Illinois - Currently playing with the PAASL group (Palatine Area Advanced Squad Leader) in Chicago's NW suburbs. Also found on occasion at Games Plus in Mt. Prospect.
About Me
I grew up as an "archaeology-brat" with my grandfather, primarily following him around on digs along the Great Lakes, primarily at Fort Mackinac and Fort Michilimackinac. He was also a WWII vet along with his brothers, so it was basically like growing up in the 1940s given their topics of conversation. Thus it was inevitable that I would also pursue historical interests.
Personal Interests (favorite activities, movies, shows, books, music, etc.)
Reading, Hiking, Historical Travel, Battlefield Photography and Interpretation at http://militaryhistorytraveler.blogspot.com/ Goodreads at https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/46855416-michael-ryzy

Spending time with Corwin, the scholarly Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I am certainly Sherman to his Peabody.
