The Siege of Syracuse Ready for Playtesting

I'm putting the finishing touches on the first development draft of Paul Rohrbaugh's game, The Siege of Syracuse, for Turning Point Simulations.  This game covers operations in Sicily during the Peloponnesion War, 413-415 BCE, with ground and naval elements. Ultimately, Syracuse prevailed over the Athenians, effectively deciding the outcome of the war.

The game is just about ready to go, and will be available… Continue

Here is a list of My Top Ten games with amazing components.  This is a topic which is near and dear to my heart, as I am constantly striving to make better maps and counters for VPG games and for myself.  These a not just games: they are works of art, and I only wish I could make games as nice.

1.  Russian Campaign 4th edition by L2.

2.  Bitter Woods by L2

Method of producing scenario in SL

I think it is somewhat halfway though in SL, there is a description for the method of producing the scenario. Because I want to play as such long, an original production method of the scenario is devised. Here, it makes the use of maps up to two assumption.

1.The selection of the map: Both players select one map. Please decide the player previously selected with dice etc.

2.Please move to clause 4 if you play one map.

3.Please decide how to connect it when…

Point 2 Point 44: Components, Hellenes, and a CONTEST!

Jason flies solo again, and can't seem to shut up! Over TWO hours in this solo ep. Jason addresses feedback where he announces the first ever CONTEST for P2P! Then he covers the last month (plus some) of news that fit to print--er--say. He also gives a rundown of things to consider when rating components, along with some "anchor" games that are examples of each "dice-level" rating. After this comes a full review of the GMT block game Hellenes. He also talks over some recent gaming (meeting…

Wounded Warriors

The National Post in Canada is one of my favorite media outlets, one that I read every day.  Often it's to keep up on Canadian news; what happens north the border does matter.  Additionally, it is good to get a foreign perspective on events in the United States, as they cover the news here.

One of the most important stories I've seen there was published today.  A reporter from the Post visited a veterans…

I Had a Dream... It Was An Awesome Dream... And It Was Cool

Television is about to get better due to the return of some badly missed characters.  They are guys with whom we all went to high school.  Maybe we worked with at some sucky summer job, involving burgers and stuff.

They are Beavis and Butt-head. …

ROME - TOTAL WAR

Due to un-forseen circumstances, I had to reload Rome Total War back onto my PC

It has to be one of the best war strategy simulation games ever. I had decided just to play a quick game playing the house of Julii just to get back into playing again, plus I like to experiment with different ways of managing the empire, to see if it can work better.

Even though I have just started this campaign, I have just had the best victory in all the games I have ever played, and this again,…

Play the "SF3D"

I play "SF3D:Scenario 10;City Fight".This scenario becomes a confused fight. An intense fire fight occurs because the victory condition is a number of hex of towns in the vicinity of the center of the map.

The dilemma is generated because the position that is adjacent to the ally cannot be specified for the shooting target though the indirect fire can be done to this scenario. How can the unit able to be left, and a severe fight is forced on both players mentally.…
