The Hunters........bad counters....grrr

I have finally decided to play this game, as I bought it direct on it's first P500 listing.

Just started to punch out the counters, only to realize that the quality of the die cutting and/or printing alignment is awful.

Letters have been cut off either from the side or right across the top, boats and subs have their afts cut off.

I have not seen something this bad for a long long time. Surprising since it came from GMT.

Has anyone else had this…

I've Been Diced! episode 64: Richard Borg

Richard Borg talks about everything from the Command & Colour wargames to the X-Men games from Pressman (with a cameo from Stan Lee). We also discuss the Kickstarter for his new World War I game, Mutant Chronicles: Siege Of The Citadel, and much more. Plus, a game off the beaten path that should have an electronic version, but doesn't, really. © 2015 Tom Grant

Empires of the middle ages at CSWExpo - grand campaign:

I'm planning on running this as a drop-in event, though it would be great if I could get a couple of people

interested in playing at least a couple of days worth of it.

Right now, there are a handful of folk signed up for it - but looking at the list,

I'm guessing most aren't planning on playing for a large part of the con. Spread the

word - this can be a lot of…

Finally, I get around to my 2014 wrap-up....

Well, better late than never….  A brief wrap up of 2014 gaming.  I have to say that there were quite a few surprises for me last year. The biggest of which was that I enjoy card-based wargames.  I have always avoided these due to a general dislike for card games as a kid growing up in Yosemite N.P., California. (They were the only games that were portable enough to bring with us to the back-country ranger station my father manned.) It all started with Spearpoint 1943 by CEG; it was…

Important Personal Announcement

I can make this public now. The news is that I resigned as staff developer with Turning Point Simulations, and that they are putting the remaining games in the hands of the able Lembit Tohver. The sad fact is that with a full-time online teaching job at APUS, a part-time job in the classroom at La Roche College, and the homestretch of my work on a second Masters degree at APUS, I just ran out of time. There was no way that I could devote the time to the projects that they deserve, or meet…

I've Been Diced! episode 62: Our 2014 in review

Our regular panel looks back on 2014 in gaming — the ups, the downs, the pleasant surprises, the grave disappointments. Where do games like Dead Of Winter, Fire In The Lake, Nations, and The Hunters fit into this picture? Plus, the recent arrival of Cthulhu Wars inspires Tom to muse on the value of our games, and why recent developments in the game market is making it even harder to figure out the relationship between the real value to the owner and the price it costs to buy a…
