Amazing Box of Games

I've been documenting my find the other day on Russ Gifford's "All Things SPI" group.  For 30 bucks I got a banker's box of games of all types, including 51 SPI titles from Ares and S&T!

There is more in the box that falls under the category of "very obscure."  I figured they don't fall within any of the groups here, so I'll post them here:

Tractics (TSR) - A pristine copy with all the colored paper charts and books totally uncracked; the only problem is that the staples on…

Boxed or Download

Question for everybody,

Would you be more likely to buy a wargame program if it came in box rather than as a download?

The cost difference would be on the order of ~$10 for the download versus ~$20+shipping for the boxed version.

   The box version would include;

   - 9x11x1 (ca.) full color box

   - A 8x11 full color reference map

   - 4-8 page player guide (b\w, 11x17 Folded)

   - Cardstock piece with charts and table (b\w)

   -…

Combat Commander, Scenario 40

Last session, Ramon and I were giving a try to the biggest and bloodiest scenario in Combat Commander. We have played Scenario 40, Into the Breach, that deals with the fighting at Barrikady Factory in Stalingrad.

Scenario is played in Map 34, mainly dominated by a big building (Barrikady Factory) withother factories in the surroundings. Set-up is quite original as both players must draw for a random hex where to place groups in…

I need the combat results table for CNA. Anyone game? Thanks. I am presently assembling from the premises (cellar, attic, and two outdoor storage shed) my wargame collections. (About 500 games, including "third World" games. Let me know if anyone needs something...too. Thanks...John Positano

Combat Commander, Scenario 111 and Scenario 54

Last session Ramon and I have played two short CC scenarios.

First scenario was proposed by another of the club members, Jordi "Dulent", and it was Scenario 111 "The Scheldt" published in C3i # 24.

This scenario reflects a meeting encounter between Canadians and Germans in Belgium and its is played using Map 20. Here is the initial set-up.…

Couple of board wargames have arrived in last week or so that I have only managed to get some quality time with today.

Jolly nice this one looks.

I used to love the Area/Impulse games that started out with 'Storm Over Arnhem' and this one uses a version of that…

Five games of Combat Commander !!!

Couple of days off (ye hah) and got in some more games with my Dad. Of course this meant Combat Commander got yet more play

First scenario was from the Normandy pack with an action set on Sword Beach with me as British invader against German beach defenders. AS can be seen from pics below I had a large strech of beach to traverse to get to cover of a line of Shingle with only few hedgehogs defences to assist. Moving in sand/beach hex costs extra half movement point. The Germans…
