Okay lets see whos firing all thier guns in thier battery.
We are in the beginning of this battle.
There are Rebel reinforcements entering through the GMX map at 1700turn, namely Helm bgd. with a DD to head for Glass Mill ford.
As well as Union reinforcements needing to satisfy thier DD by going through Glass Mill ford, namely Palmar div. at 1700turn.

I just completed the playthrough of the first Scenario in 2nd Fleet. Pitting a pair of Soviet missile ships against NATO's STANAVFORLANT and an amphibious group, I played via Vassal.
As I was writing the AAR, I was clicking furiously through the Vassal logfiles. Thinking it was a pretty kool animation, I produced the video below. I hope you enjoy it!

I'm a little pissed off with OCS Burma at the moment.
I've been playing two games of the U-Go scenario simultaneously, one game (as the Japanese) slightly ahead of the other (as the Allies). The Japanese rarely have numerical advantage, but they have an AR advantage. They slip through the mountains and put the Allies in difficult defensive positions, but ultimately at some stage they need to attack the allies in order to 'press through' their lines (up to this point they can forage…
I ran a demo/practise game of LnL's "Nuklear Winter '68" at the local game shop. The patrons are more of a eurogamer/tabletop miniatures breed, but I think its time for them to be made aware of the Hex&counter scene as well.Continue

I am currently recovering from the latest hip replacement (BOTH are now steel/polymer/porcelin contraptions). And I have to do the PT -on my own; HA! Battle of Moscow version 1.2 is now available at war-game-programming.com. This version incorporates a number of suggestions from Chris Gammon while fixing some bugs he found.
* Automatic game save at start of each phase. Disabled manual game save.
* Gameload() opens to save folder
* Fixed Exit game save crash (hopefully).
* Fixed restart phase button and start hex issues.
* Added a Confirm…
SFGE is now at version 0.50. No real new features but plenty of important bug fixes. The game still lacks a setup phase and scenarios but I believed all rules and other required features have been implemented. There's still quite a few 'nice to have' features that I plan to implement in the next couple of weeks.
Automating the Chaos forces really speeds up game play. A 10 turn game takes about an 45-90 minutes. The increase resource option seems to be really powerful, assuming I…Continue

Just finished another year of my Vassal debut against Norman with this fascinating game. A year of fluctuating fortunes for the Allied cause. Bourbons started year with a mean event card which sent Eugene off to the War Council for a year (ie he sits off-board -unless Vienna attacked) Sods also stole initiative this year getting to play first on Campaign phase. Southern and Central Sectors..
Railway Station No.2 (southern sector) and the Mamayev Kurgan (centre) have fallen to the Germans gaining two VPs...the Germans need 12 to win 2 of which have to be two of the three Volga Ferry hexes..
