I read an article on a website, for the life of me I cannot remember what the website was, but it was basically about why the hobby of wargaming has had such a demise over the years.
It cited a number of reasons like computer games and consoles, role playing games (warhammer etc) and quite a few others. I certainly do think that computer games and consoles did indeed pull alot of people away from wargaming, and i was one of them, probably due to the lack of opponents I could…

I have bought this issue off ebay, in new condition, all unpunched.
I feel now that my collection of war games is complete - in the sense that I have a good variety of games covering a wide variety of conflicts in different eras.
That is not to say I will not be buying anything else, I will be, it is just that my initial spending spree is now over and I can just buy the odd game now and again.

I have two posts up about Lanchester's Laws and attrition modeling on my games blog (
1,
2). The third post is in the works, but life is not cooperating with my blogging schedule lately.

I printed my Arnhem map yesterday, so i just need to run through the standard and exclusive rules and the game will be afoot!
I did quite a good job, as I had to print the map in four A4 sections, but even though I made sure that the print scales were identical on all four sheets, they still miss-matched at odd points :(
Still, they were only small and were only and few, and did not spoil the over map.
This is the first time I have done this, so future maps i hope will…

I have now added to my game collection the following:
Napoleons last battles quad - I had this years ago, it was one of the very first games I ever bought and I am so chuffed to have it again.
Race for Tunis (GDW)
Red Storm Rising (TSR)
I also noticed on ebay that Westwall quad from SPI (used) sold for £40. Glad I have this game as an electronic version, and in actual fact, I printed out the Arnhem map (after some tinkering with PSP7) and have printed…

Every once and a while, my faith in wargame manufacturers is renewed, and it happened most recently with Lost Battalion Games and their game: Sergeants on the Eastern Front. I had ordered the game because they claimed (on their website) that it was ready and shipping.... After a month I inquired with the company: hey, where's my order? Eventually they responded that they weren't ready and they would return my money. On top of that, they promised to send me a copy of the game for FREE when it…

I have been offered this game, which I would love to take, but it is missing the rules booklet. I have tried Boardgame Geeks, Wizards without any luck, and I am waiting on a response from the designer.
But would anyone here have a clue where i can locate a copy of the rules from?

A work colleague brought this game into work for me which had been lurking in his loft for decades. Unfortunately the rules are missing.
Does anyone know where I can obtain a new/replacement set?

For those who can't get enough of North Korea, here is a link to its
official news agency's web site, actually hosted on a Japanese server. Probably the most interesting thing about the stories on here are that they are so incredibly boring. Moreover, there is a self-importance to them, such as the one announcing that…

Via an email from GMT regarding the P500 shipments:
We have just a couple changes in the Fall lineup this time. Chad wanted
a bit more time for Fighting Formations in final production and we're
happy to oblige, as this game looks REALLY cool and we want to make
sure we get it right.
We happened to have Spanish Civil War a
bit ahead of schedule on the final component front, so we have slotted
it for the November slot vacated by Fighting Formations.…

It has be over 20 years since i have played a Board War Game (BWG), and during that time, the games I had were lost or left in house moves, computers and game machines took over my life and the humble BWG was forgotten.
It is only in the past year that my interest and fascination with these games has grown again, to the point I have now purchased a few, and been given quite a few in pdf files.
So once again, I am starting out again, back to basics with Napoleon at Waterloo, but I…
