OKW Command, June 1944

The expected British and American invasion of France will be at anytime. Der Fuehrer has ordered that the invasion must be stopped at all costs, but he has restricted major deployment decisions to himself. So command has been order to place all line battalions to cover the main areas of allied advance. Armor will be under strict control for Der Furhrer, but he has deemed local command can use them in emergencies. Resources will be scarce so command will need to husband them. Extra artillery…

Ivy Division command, June 1944

In preparation for the invasion the American 4th Infantry Division is given orders that they will be part of the lead units for the invasion of France. The divisional command has started the planning for the invasion by looking over the intelligence on the beaches that they will land on. They are on the beach code named Utah. Sketching intelligence puts a German infantry battalion holding the beach area that they are tasked with. They can expect some sort of supporting units but as of the…

Steadfast and Loyal, the 4th (Ivy) Infantry Division war in Europe

I am starting this blog to record my play of the Panzer Grenadier campaign for the Ivy Division in Europe. At Gettysburg..

A fascinating and moving experience...amazed at how open the ground is between Seminary Ridge and Cemetary Ridge also at the very short distance between the Copse and Bryans Barn...strangely easy to imagine the carnage at this point..

MidSummer's Night Reality

I now officially HATE Summer....if it's not 100 Degrees, then it's 'freak' summer STORMS (Y'know, where the electricity goes away ).

But, I also have something new and interesting: The VA and I are actively planning to replace my knees, one at a time. (My latest ortho appointment showed my latest hip replacement healing nicely -not as fast as last time and I have to go to Physical Therapy twice a week, still no problems)
