I'll save everyone the problem of waiting for a plot spoiler, so here it is: The Japanese win at the end of the movie. And that ending is really really boring.
Seriously though, Inglourious Basterds
is a film sure to appeal to many history buffs and wargamers. A tour de force from the inimitable Quentin Tarantino
, the leading practitioner of… Continue

Folks, I've decided it is best that we leave purely-pollitical or economic type posts off this social network so we can focus on gaming discussions and hobby-related matters instead, please. A lot of our members wish to have an escape from such topics. If you do post something political here, please post as "private" access only so not everyone can see it.
We do have a political topic for discussion on the CSW Forum, so let's please stick to that venue that is already available to… Continue

Randy Lein at Legion Wargames wrote this:
The replacement maps for Ici, c'est la France! have arrived. All components are now in house and the kitting of the games will commence on Monday. I hope to have the first batch of games going out on Thursday, Aug 27th, with all games being shipped by the 31st.
There are still 70+ Pre-Orders for which I have not received payment. If you Pre-Ordered the game through Legion… Continue

There are a lot of great and interesting photos posted on this site. I am cursed with a healthy sense of curiosity so I check out a lot of these pictures. And I usually end up learning NOTHING as there is no caption to tell me what the heck I am looking at. You took the time to take the picture, you took more time to post the picture. Could you please
take a few more seconds to add a caption to your lovely picture?
I am sure I am not the only one thinking this. There are great… Continue

Won the game after Russians conceded at the end of T4. Because of numbers of unfortunate and ill-timed DRs, their manpower was down and anti-AFV capability was neutralized (BT recalled, KV-2's MA malfed, a HS with MTR rolled 12 in MC, etc). German tanks turned both Russian's franks, encircling their infantries. They can't retreat to the final defence line, but stand against massive German infrantries and HE shots from AFVs.
This is another interesting SK scenario. The KV-2 is… Continue

recently did a slide show of high-tech jobs
that got my attention for several reasons. One is that the current state of the economy makes anything about jobs interesting. Also, we just had our run-ins with spammers. Another is that the subject concerns professions that can yield lots of money, but cost… Continue

I joined CSW SNS, bacause of the CSW forum shutdown (I was not that intrested in, when CSW SNS started). Guess lots of similar cases out there. So, having shutdowned the forums was not that bad in a way. Hoping they would be back sooner though. CSW Forums and SNSs would complement each other what they are good at. Very curious about how many memberships we could reach.

The 1.Corps commanded by Francois attacks the russian 20.Corps with both Divisions. The russians put his second Division in the Battle, but lost it. But now in the second turn, he came back, pinned the 1.Corps and go to attack.
wondering why a Cav.Div could move further with the railroad then a Inf.Div., did the horses speed up the Train :) ?

Had a day of playing Fear God and Dread Nought yesterday. A first game for 3 of the four of us. The veteran (Ian) ran the German forces; I was gamemaster.
We had a great time. The game has a partially deserved rep for being highly complex. I'd created a 4-page set of abridged rules (covering the rules required for the Jump Start scenario) and with these play flowed very smoothly despite the lack of experience. When I say the play flowed smoothly, I mean the interpretation and… Continue

I just saw that the rebuild process has taken 28 hours so far.
I wanted to mention that if you run it faster than that, it won't take so long. 'Just trying to help!
You know that Jack Black character from "Tropic Thunder" - the one Jones'in? Anyone else feel just like that guy, with CSW down?

all units at start. not so much , from the 7 counter sheets only 1/2 a german units, 1/2 austro and 1 russian. one sheet with Improved positions, one with step reduction counter, two with attachment markers and the last with informational markers.
the russians take the first turn, second Corps moves to Lyck, rolls for Experience Level and gains 14 VP. the germans in the counter movement phase decides to move his entrained units from the 17.Corps to Deutsch Eylau.

Something which I found really helped with my own forum is the addition of a custom field when registering. Just adding a question as simple as "Are you human?" is enough to stop just about all automated spam-bots... The key is.. it needs to be unique.

Well been on a bit of buying spree these past few weeks, found some bargains (At least I think so..) and probably paid too much for some. Here is a list of what I got. Dear Americans fight with all your might Obama's proposed Socialist Healthcare proposals. The British National Health Service (NHS) started life after WW2 with the noble intention of providing healthcare for all for free. Up untill around 1980 it worked very well depending on how much money the government was prepared to spend on it. After 1980 the socialist Left have slowly taken over most British institutions ,and have enforced Political Correctness with a Stalinist zeal. Britain is now not… Continue

i am wondering about the commanders in TiTE, they have not much impact of combats, are only one or two times event and the counters look bad, no picture of them, only the name. i think two special rules had did the same effect.

I also miss The Marketplace folder ! ! !
It's amazing to me how much I used ConSimWorld. I use WebGrognards alot; BGG Very little. The Forums at CSW just have SO MUCH stuff on the games and the systems that it really puts a crimp in my playing any of my old games. There are some games that I do have "Up-to-Date" errata, etc compiled and stored with the game. But I noticed this past week as I pulled out some older games that I would automatically go to the games folder and see what… Continue
