"Many died fighting, of course. But most died of disease. Still others died from drowning, lightning strikes, suicide, bar fights, train

Arnhem (SPI) and the thoughts of FOG OF WAR

I have just finished playing this game (solo), and it is the first board wargame I have played in over 20 years, so it was just as much a game of getting back into the way these games are played just as much as it was getting to know and learn the rules of a new game.
It finished with a tactical victory for the Germans ( for those interested).
This game did throw up one question about the rules. This was if a unit forced to retreat off the map, does the opponent get the…

Account incorrectly deleted

So apparently someone asked John to delete my account from CSW, and was pretending to be me to do it.

John's been able to re-instate much of my account, but I've lost a lot of photos / videos, including the ones from Origins that I'd uploaded here but were deleted from my phone after uploading.

I'm pretty sure we all know what happened here. I'm pretty sure we can all acknowledge it was unnecessarily childish. I'm now going back into hibernation until I'm done reloading/recharging,… Continue

Another Kind of Cat

My cat is a Panther. It's in the Place Roi Albert at Houffalize, Belgium; the tank was pulled out of the River Ourthe, where it had fallen in during the Battle of the Bulge.

Pets

I like Cats - a lot.

My favorite cat recently passed away, but she was a prolific mother.

Here is a picture of her son, Timmy.

My 9 yr old niece is owned by that cat. :)

The Wargame Processor

Has anyone tried this program before. It is like PBEM but done on the computer. Looks really good and might worth a try, as it would save having to keep a game set up all the time, especially with having kids, cats, and a vacuum wielding wife!
I should there is limitation to this, becuase if you do not register it and pay $25 you only get a limited number of saves

A suicide in Germany !

Well, I was surprised!

The player who was General of the Army, Operational Level, for Germany has just emailed me saying that he must commit suicide and leave the game! This was his reaction to the news that his units in the Low Countries were cut off from supply. They would not be permitted to attack, but could move.

Embarrassing? Yes, but not worth throwing in the towel for. This is a complex game, no question. I have been telling players for a while now that the team that… Continue
