If you were in a Game Designing Team, designing a new game for mainstream publication, what would you like to see incorporated into the game that tends to be missed out or not used in typical standard strategy games, especially the areas that really bug you?
I think my main demand for inclusion would be if the map uses hexes, then the pieces should be hex shaped, not square. Another one would be to make the hexes on the map a little bigger, even though this would make the map bigger,… Continue

These are wargames built around a book, TV show, or fictional movie. So while it's tempting to include SPI's old STARFORCE: ALPHA CENTAURI
and tons of other science fiction and fantasy games in this genre, I'd like to limit this to those games that have direct lineages back to the books, TV shows, and movies that inspired them. The big question is--did they work?
Now, I'm not talking about taking something like the film KELLY'S HEROES and building a Lock 'N Load… Continue

I've noticed that remakes of older games have gotten quite a head of steam. "Back in the day" it used to be we could look forward to Avalon Hill doing that. They'd take SPI games like the venerable PANZERBLITZ
and FRANCE: 1940, AFRIKA KORPS, CONQUISTADOR, FREEDOM IN THE GALAXY, FREDERICK THE GREAT
, etc., old Battleline titles (FLATTOP, WOODEN SHIPS & IRON MEN, AIR FORCE
, etc), the occasional outside title or two (Jedko's… Continue

I have added this as my mark of respect to all of those who fell, and those who survived but are no longer with us, fighting for the freedom and democracy we have today.
I also want to offer my full respect and admiration to those who are still doing so in Afghanistan.

Have you ever heard of this magazine?
I stumbled upon it on the net, and I was able to download the first 6 issues.
It based around miniature wargaming, and is put together very well. I have to admire the people who go to great pains to paint their miniatures and to creating the landscape and buildings to such incredible detail.
However, they do deal with some interesting maps and details of various battles that they cover, which maybe useful to those planning… Continue

A United States Marine was attending some college courses between assignments.
He had completed missions in Iraq and Afghanistan .. One of the courses had a professor who was an avowed atheist and a member of the ACLU .
One day the professor shocked the class when he came in he looked to the ceiling and flatly… Continue
