The official social platform for ConsimWorld
I have decided to create a list of the top 10 games that I own and want to learn and play in 2014. I do not normally do lists like this, but I thought if I set myself a target, then it would be good to see at the end of the year how well I have done.
Some of these games have multiple scenarios, so I will class them as played even if I only play one
I do not intend to rattle through them just to complete my list, I will play them like I do all my games - take my…

Looking back at 2013 I was wondering how fellow "Consimmers" did with their game purchases and other related aspects of the hobby.
Most surprising game purchase: Spearpoint 1943 (CEW). Who'd ever thought I'd be so enthusiastic about an abstract card game based on the Allied invasion of Italy? This is a fabulous game!
Most Embarrassing purchase: Deluxe (Kickstarter) OGRE. What the hell was I thinking? I mean, I like OGRE, but not this much!
Best…

Announcing SDC's 'Panzer Battles' Competition
Giving you another crack at it...

David Freer's post over on the Blitz is not the only chance to score a copy of the first Panzer Battles title.
SDC's contest will be a little different than David's being run at The Blitz, in that Scenario Design…

My wife and I went Christmas shopping last Monday. After a successful day of getting all the presents we needed to get, my wife asked me what I wanted for Christmas.
I told her I was happy with Picket Duty as my Christmas present, but she thought this was not enough.
After a lot of thought, I said to her that I cannot think of anything that I need, other than another game that I have really really really wanted for ages, but it was a little…

A couple of weeks ago, I asked the designer of a wargame some questions, and it turned out he lives in the same town that I work in.
During the course of messages through BGG with this designer, the suggestion came up that at some point we could do a FtF game.
Two or three years ago (I have only gotten back into board wargaming in 2009 after a 25 year absence) I would have jumped at the offer. But not now. I declined his offer with a number of valid reasons, but…

This has been a good year. Earlier I scored from MMP a ziploc copy of 'Armies of Oblivion', and now a ziploc copy of SASL2 from their Black Friday sale.
'Leros' and 'Talavera' are also enroute.

Where is the marketplace? I'd swear there was one here before. There is a copy of Gung Ho (autographed by Bob McNamara if you like) on Ebay, with a few more coming. What's the proper forum for such things?…

Tonight, I've read a lot of tributes to Nelson Mandela upon his passing. Respect for him appears to cross ideological lines, with liberals, conservatives and libertarians alike paying their respects.
There are some in the minority though, pointing out that he was a Communist terrorist, condemning him and those who laud him. I have to strongly disagree with what I see as some prose that can only be described as mean-spirited and short-sighted. True, he did have allies who were…

I have a blog which I have started using for wargaming (more for fun than seriousness) and I did a game report for The Road to Cheren.
