I have a copy of the first edition of this game, made by OSG, which I bought from someone on ebay and I plan to play it soon.
It has the original OSG rule book, but it also has an original AH rule book from the second edition.
The help I need is whether or not there is any difference between 1st and 2nd edition rules. The second edition would be more preferable to read as it is indexed which helps greatly.
After a few brief looks at the two rule books, I…Continue
Picket Duty has now been released and is being shipped as we speak.

Road to Cheren from Revolution Games arrived today.
A stunning little game. Gorgeous map, quality counters and a nicely packaged rule book.
Definitley worth the money and the postage was cheap too. I have a feeling I will going back to them soon for some more.…Continue
I just cannot believe my luck with this. It cost me £30 to buy, including postage, and it arrived this morning at 0800hours. I am wandering around like I am in a dream.
It is in fantastic condition - even the box! Christmas has come early for me.
It actually cost the seller £16 to post because it is so heavy (4kg), so the game only really cost £14
And here it is:…Continue
I have finally decided to voice my disapproval/dislike for a certain review.
Whilst I am typing this, I am still trying to work out exactly how to word this post, without making myself look silly or as bad as…Continue
This game is getting close to being released and looks awesome!
BTW, it is not shipping yet (as per the banner, as this is a preview of the CSW banner ad), but will be in a few weeks time, so you can still buy it at the CPO price of $45 at the moment (estimated retail price is $64)…Continue
I bought The Crusades 3W from someone on ebay, and it arrived today. But what also arrived in the package was 1815 The Waterloo Campaign.
When I opened up the box of The Crusades, I then found an additional game - Lille, The Classic Vauban Siege 1708.…Continue
King Philip's War & Tide at Sunrise (MMP) - any opinions on these two games?
I bought KPW from some house clearance ebayer, but when it arrive it also had TaS and Waterloo20 (VPG) inside it. TaS had half the counters missing but I was able to print off the missing ones, but I am getting close to picking up these two games to play and was after some opinions about them - good or bad.
Played DBMM for the first time last night with Graham, Gregg and Mike at the H&SL Wargame Society. Seems like a really good system, and the guys really helped to explain it as we played it, which is probably the best way. I have had an interest in this system ever since I got interested in miniatures, so it is great I am getting the chance to play it.
Thanks to the members of the Lost Battles Yahoo Group and Professor Sabin, I have now found out that there is Wargame Society in my town - The Hastings and St. Leonards Wargame Society.
They meet every Tuesday, which is good for me, and play a whole host of games, mainly figure/miniature games but also some boardgames, and are able to leave everything set up from one week to the next, as the rooms are above a Pub :)
They also do not have to pay any money for the rooms, so no…Continue
I wonder who will be the first to answer correctly (that is of course if anyone does answer).
From the picture below, can you name the game I am setting up at the moment?
We had to buy our daughter a new laptop yesterday (as part of her up-coming birthday present), as the one she has been using was not good enough, un-reliable and was too heavy to carry back and forth to college.
This old laptop, is actually my laptop, which I bought some 8 years ago. It is not a fast machine, or a even a good spec machine, but it is good enough to run HPS/Matrix wargames.
So after giving it a good service, I have now dedicated it to such a purpose, that it will…Continue

My quest to have have the complete set of the Royalist & Roundheads system took another step closer today, making it 50% complete.
I doubt I will ever reach 100%, as some of the games in the system are VERY hard to come by, and what is available is very expensive: CRUSADES QUAD, CROSSBOWS AND CANON II & SWORD & SHIELD.
Have you any HOLY GRAILS that you are trying to complete?
I will raise a glass in memory of my Dad who took part in D-Day, serving on HMS Scylla, on this day 69 years ago.
And I will raise a glass to all the other brave people who took part in this operation, and to those who fell.
Teutoburger Wald depicts the battle which took place between three Roman Legions under the command of Govenor Varus, and a confederation of Germanic tribes.
Varus was en-route to winter quarters when he and his three Legions were caught in a cunning trap. Surrounded on all sides, this was to be a battle of pure survival.
The outcome for Varus was not good. He and his three Legions were destroyed, leaving this to be the worst (or very close to) defeat for…Continue
