STALINGRAD TOURNAMENT

virus hits US drone fleet

weapons that never die-katyusha

whenever there is local military action in the arab world,i'm stunned to see the katyusha rocket seen in this photo from about 48 hours ago in Libya.

so the katusha and stg44-a late war model automatic weapon reborn as AK-47 in 1947 are incredibly long lasting designs. what weapons in any of today's "armies" are you suprised to still see in use?

note:the 1st part i just posted on the AAOCRETE forum.-*loud knock whilst i was in the bathroom-me "just a sec" opens door mailman "here you go" when i finally opened the box i found this 60%punched game in very good condition-the mapboards are sturdy-the what-if "malta" mini game has a fine wood simulation on the back of the mapboard. flicking through the rules it all came back "night" rules,"landing" direction rolls. both are great-the malta gm is a real gem-it has the added virtue…

you learn something new all the time

just got the big orange box known as NORMANDY(SPI) (finally!!!) In it was a jan-june 1973 spi catalog. i did not know that spi was able to sell the games they helped develop that where made by AHILL !?! PANZERBLITZ,THE AH VERSION OF FRANCE 1940, ORIGINS and DIPLOMACY!!! i would love to know the payment/royalty plan on these. also there is an ad that says lifetime subscription to s&t!!! does descision games still honor that from 1973!????!!!

ANZIO a quick take

i just got the first ed. of this-had the 3rd ed as a kid and remembered it as a good solo game. just playing the basic ver.-it;s a lot of fun-there is some deep weirdness in the writing of the rules and charts-the turn card reads right to left?? having said that it is easy enough once you "get" it. the controversial visual of the mapboard is really not a factor-it looks weird from far away better up close. and up close is how you spend most off your time trying to find a potential breach… Continue
