Thought it would be nice to share any stories of games folks received over the Holiday season. Whether you treated yourself or bought from a loved one, share your story with us. I'll kick things off by stating I received one game this year to help bring our kids together for the holiday -- Ticket to Ride. Yup, not a consim title, per se, but something the kids really enjoyed.
What new games are you now enjoying at your home? And are you… Continue

We appreciate everyone's consideration in helping support CSW!
It's time to end the drive, and I figure there is no better time to end it than on my Birthday!

I've added some new features to our social network:
- Map -- map your location. Don't worry about privacy, your street address won't appear.
- Answers -- ask questions (and answer questions from others)
- Ideas -- got ideas on how to help us improve? We're all ears!

Just a heads-up in case you missed it. We are going to give the CSW newsdesk a long-overdue and much-needed overhaul and redesign. In the meantime, we've launched the ConsimWorld Forward Observer
. We've posted 54 items in the past 5 days alone, which is what we basically take two months to accomplish at our newsdesk. If you haven't checked out CSW Forward Observer
yet, we encourage you to check it out. We… Continue

I've got something in beta that will serve as a daily information source for CSW and also look to cover tidbits coming from other sources (forum, BGG, etc.) -- hence the name, forward observer. Again, I'm just kicking the tires for now to see how much more quickly I can post news stories and to see if I can easily keep it up on a daily basis. If I can and it gets some legs under it, I'll consider it as a… Continue

I've begun posting some game tutorial screencasts
in support of BEDA FOMM
. My goal is to cover the major rule sections first, and then get into actual game play and strategy/tips. Obviously this is an amateur effort on all counts -- I'm simply shooting these clips on a single take and not really doing any editing. Still, I'm hoping the quality is good enough to assist players with… Continue

Given the recent upsurge in spammers as new members, I'm testing functionality that requires new membership requests be first reviewed and approved by me before they can officially join this network. This will hopefully cut down in the amount of annoying spam posts we have encountered recently. Let see how this feature works out....

Folks, I've decided it is best that we leave purely-pollitical or economic type posts off this social network so we can focus on gaming discussions and hobby-related matters instead, please. A lot of our members wish to have an escape from such topics. If you do post something political here, please post as "private" access only so not everyone can see it.
We do have a political topic for discussion on the CSW Forum, so let's please stick to that venue that is already available to… Continue

I'd like to put in a special request that everyone please submit their CSR Awards ballot
no later than this Wednesday so I can get all results tallied to announce the nominees. The news story below provides more info including where you can see a list of games published in 2008. If you all can knock out your ballot this weekend, as you read this -- that would be perfect. Thanks!…

I was trying to enjoy a long weekend vacation in San Diego, CA despite being under the weather, but one hobby-related thought entered my mind while cruising along and taking in San Diego, La Jolla, Del Mar, etc....
He was the man behind Command Perspectives which published Sharpsburg and Road to Washington, part of the "War of the Rebellion" series. The games made quite a splash given its detailed treatment of… Continue

I'd like to ask everyone's indulgence to refrain from political postings on our social network. There are plenty of other online venues for this, including the Literary Corner of our Discussion Forum, so I think it would be best for all involved if we kept such a sensitive matter off the social network airwaves to the collective relief of all. Thank you for your understanding...I'm sure there is plenty of gaming and hobby-related discussions we can all focus on here!
