Visiting Battlefields: The Bridge of Remagen - a field trip

In May 2008, Andreas Ludwig and I used a prolonged weekend to visit the Bridge of Remagen.



After the destruction on March 17th, 1945, the Ludendorff Bridge was never rebuilt but remained as a memorial. Today, the bridge towers at Remagen (on the left bank of the Rhine) house a famous war museum, telling the story of the Remagen bridge.
