If you want some spice....I could be controversial. It has become....quiet, but holidays is not an issue with me, busy at work and at home is, plus I have to be careful what I post on here now in case I upset a certain person :-)
FWIW I don't miss griping over politics, it added nothing to this site.

I enjoyed the political discussions too, including exchanges with people with whom I disagreed. It was only the obvious trolls and Holocaust deniers whom I could do without, and as it turned out they were among the biggest whiners and complainers about the politics, usually misspelling their complaints in the process.
Now that they got what they wanted, they've gone on to afflict someplace else like goose-stepping locusts, and we're bored.
Your right. I only check this site, maybe, once a week now. I enjoyed the political discussions and would check in, at least, once a day.

I'm sure online sites, forums, etc. will have their lulls now and then. Given the holidays, the timing seems about right. Perhaps folk will comment about what they are playing over the holidays?

like I said - look for some stuff this weekend from the Triangle area. We got some Warfighter gaming on Friday and another linkup on Saturday. If Scott takes/sends photos from Saturday, I'll upload 'em, plus I'll get stuff up on Friday. :)
As Brant G. stated " ...Holiday preparations?" Could be a huge possibility. Unfortunately there are no gamers in the Cerritos Area to play ASL with, or any game at that. I have to travel out, and when I can (in addition: there is a possibility of gaming...) my attempts to game are 50/50. Thus leaving me no choice of getting an aar out!

I wonder if folks aren't slowed down by their holiday preparations? I know we've got some gaming lined up for Friday and I'll try to add some pictures. I've been sinking a lot of my time into rebooting http://grognews.blogspot.com (/shameless plug)

I suppose we could argue about GMT's Labyrinth or whether Japanese counters should be yellow... :-/

Ah, Jim touched on it. It's the prohibition against political discussions. For what it's worth, at the Strategy & Tactics blog there's a thread where it is mentioned that Decision Games is working on a computer version of Cobra, based on the Computer War in Europe II engine. I'm jazzed about that!
I'd like to personally invite you all to read a full preview (13Mb PDF link) of our new fast-playing (30 minutes) tactical WWII card game, Frontline General: Spearpoint 1943 in our newsletter. I'm happy to announce that we've just passed the 200 p…
I've found the internal debate (i.e. the debate in my head) has been to either play a lot of games poorly or a few games well. I prefer the latter model, but then you must, as you say, find that set of holy grail games that one chooses to become goo…
Chris:
Really - that's a good point. I wonder if the Audi folks realized the message they were sending out with this one. I doubt if anyone found it funny in the least.

I've recently printed and built "To the Last Man." I was able to play the game and get an idea of its look and feel beforehand thanks to BGG and Cyberboard. It's an excellent game, one well worth the bother.
I _hope_ it is just by unfortunate accid…
Yes, this was a creepy ad. I looked at the Audi website to compare this car to others. Oddly enough, you are unable to compare it to the VW SportWagon TDI, which gets exactly the same mileage.
Lately, I've been mad at Newsweek, due to issues of bias that are beyond the realm of this group. However, tonight I read a very good article on its web site, regarding layoffs.I was once in a meeting at a former employer, and we were going over th…
