O.K. this is my first game purchased (I also got The Jewish War) from Legion Wargames. So I was not sure what to expect. The game comes with two Maps of both Islands (Tinian is a 11" X 17" and Siapan is a 17" X 22"), three rule books (basic rules, Specific rules for Siapan and Tinian), all the charts and and tables, and some 528 counters.

Saipan & Tinian are their first effort in their Island War Series (IWS)

As I said since this was my first purchase from them and I have to admit I am rather happy with their products! The counter and large and very readable! The maps look good and counter stand out nicely on them. I will admit I am not sure I am keen on the Easy Punch System, but I have to admit they alleviated most of my concern shrink Wrapping them - and since I prefer to clip mu counters for looks as well as usage anyway.

So I am rather pleased with this first volume and look forward to pre-ordering their second Volume Guam soon

I hope to do a second report after playing my first game

Eric - That would be an interesting one to read, as I do like reading unbiased reviews of games, especially with 2 games covering the same subject matter.

Dave - Look forward to seeing the pictures

I hope someday to write a review comparing this set with the one published by Grognard Simulations--same subjects and similar scales, but very different approaches....

Roger,

I am hoping to set the game using the Historical set up and hope to post pictures of the game set up

Look forward to your next report, as it is always good to hear unbiased reviews. Could you post some pictures of the game?
