Still playing more games this year . . .
The Saturday Joliet group played Genesis Saturday, a close one between the Assyrians and the Hittites. The Babylonians got ambushed by Elam, and the Egyptians had religious and revolt problems. Just enough chaos for me! Our group enjoys this game, and paused for a moment to remember the designer, Richard Berg. RIP.
Gaming Session in Cedar Rapids: June10-13.
Pacific Tide (3rd US loss I have played!)
The US Civil War
No Trumpets No Drums
Wild Blue Yonder (3 campaigns)
Another play of Liberte' 5-player with the Saturday group. Here's the end of the game, the Royalists formed the final government!
The Thursday breakfast group played Liberte', a Euro-style game based loosely on the French Revolution. Clever design. we thought it was fun. would be good for the larger Saturday group.
Arquebus (GMT) Pavia 1525: Setup for the big battle. Looks like another tough one for the French!
Arquebus (GMT) Ravenna 1512: Another embarrassing loss by the French! They broke through the Spanish trench line in two places, but Spanish infantry counterattacks inflicted enough casualties to trigger the French Flight.
Our Thursday group finished a 3-player SpaceCorp. It was close all the way towards the end. Victory for Green, with the most $ and the most colonies. We all enjoyed the choices that had to be made and the game's theme - moving out into interstellar Space! I think the group will play this again soon.
Arquebus (GMT) Agnadello 1509. Embarrassing loss for the French as the Venetians, feeling pressure, eliminate enough French units to trigger a Flight roll.
Decision Games Red Eagles air war mini-game: 1943 Kuban campaign. Fun little mini-game with 40 counters and simple air combat and bombing rules. The Russians lost big (-14 VP difference), hampered by some big losses early in the game, and loss of air parity by a lack of re-fit cards.
Arquebus (GMT) 2nd battle Cerignola 1503: The French break through the Spanish Ramparts, aided by some good Crossbow rolls and a magazine explosion!
