January - Our second play of Warriors of God. We played the 100 Years War scenario. We were over halfway through it when we realized that we had the leader movement rules all wrong! Leaders can only cross a single border from a singe area each action impulse! We had been moving anybody and evrybody each impulse. Needless to say, we stopped the current game and will re-start next week. Also our first play of Lion in Winter (last week) was all wrong. How embarrassing for a couple of old hands to have almost played two whole games with a major rules mistake. If we had read the rules a little closer we should have caught it. Oh well, "once more unto the breach, dear friends."

Command & Colors Epic II - Raphia 217 BC. Ptolemy 13 - Antiochus 3.The high point for me was a HC unit rolling 4 dice against an evading Light Infantry and got 4 (!) hits, evaporating the evading LI.

War on Terror (four-player, a close one), Queen's Gambit (my 16-year-old nephew crushed Naboo again), Down in Flames DVG (Midway campaign, a 61-point Japanese major victory).

Command & Colors Ancients Epic II - Arausio 105 BC. Germanic Tribes 13, Roman Army 8. This was historically a really bad defeat for the Romans, so I think they did OK today.

Finished my embarassing run of Chainmail, ending at 0-4. Whew! Also a quick battle of Meggido in Ancient Battles Deluxe.

This really is a "card management" game. I am 0-3 in Chainmail right now as I am totally inept at it! Yesterday I continued to play cards for BPs during my opponent's phase even though he had already played his 5 cards allowed by the rules!

We started "hiding" our unplayed card hand under the table to try to bluff each other as to how many cards each had left. Does anybody else do that or do you just leave the unplayed card hand in plain sight on the table?

This tactic has generated many chuckles during our series of games . . .yes, we are enjoying it. Even with no dice or CRTs!

Steve, I have Chainmail but haven't played it yet. Have you enjoyed it?

Finished Legnano from Chainmail. I am now 0-3 in this series. I have the HRE in Bouvines, so maybe I will do better at thisone.

Finished "Bannockburn" from Chainmail as the English were able to crack the Scottish schiltron and roll up the line of pikemen. My opponent and I had a lot of fun trying to hide the size of our card hands from each other. Started Legnano.

I've found the internal debate (i.e. the debate in my head) has been to either play a lot of games poorly or a few games well. I prefer the latter model, but then you must, as you say, find that set of holy grail games that one chooses to become goo…

Chris: Really - that's a good point. I wonder if the Audi folks realized the message they were sending out with this one. I doubt if anyone found it funny in the least. Smitty

I've recently printed and built "To the Last Man." I was able to play the game and get an idea of its look and feel beforehand thanks to BGG and Cyberboard. It's an excellent game, one well worth the bother. I _hope_ it is just by unfortunate accid…

Yes, this was a creepy ad. I looked at the Audi website to compare this car to others. Oddly enough, you are unable to compare it to the VW SportWagon TDI, which gets exactly the same mileage.
