I just finished my online training, and was accepted to teach political science as an adjunct instructor through the American Public University System [APUS]. It's a completely online school, fully accredited, centered around reaching military students and first-responders, especially through American Military University. This is in addition to my current brick and mortar teaching at La Roche College and Community College of Allegheny County in Pittsburgh.

So I'll have students all over the world, and not just Pittsburgh. It's going to be something of a brave new world for me, with "distance learning" taking on a whole new meaning, as my classroom extends event to active combat zones. Classes should begin shortly.

I love AMU.

It's nice to see that I'm not the only ConsimWorlder to be at AMU.

I'm gong to be teaching political science, but as I understand it I'm going to start by teaching American Government. Since that's a required course for every undergraduate major, I could be very busy.

Should be an interesting challenge—what exactly will you be teaching? (I'm a fellow political scientist.)

Jim, congratulations! I'm getting ready to enroll at AMU as well. Bachelor's in Intel Ops. Planned to do it last month but got in to an argument with a Jersey Barrier and the hit to the budget forced me to put it off a bit. Really looking forward to getting back to school to hone up on my research and writing skills, and to set an example for my daughter!

Congratulations! I am enrolled in AMU and I am registered to take my very first distance learning class, Homeland Defense, starting on March 2. I am very much looking forward to it. It's not cheap, but my company reimburses me for 33% of the tuition cost, which is better than a stick in the eye.

Awesome. Totally different world we live in. I've been listening to college lectures while on car trips from the Learning Company. Good luck.
