Made a new local contact through BoardGameGeek and had him over today to play tME. Had a good time kicking it old school. He was kind of just getting back in to war gaming after a college hiatus so my Germans were able to keep his beachhead pretty small (at least until we quit on turn 7). I enjoyed my first spin of tME and found it an improvement over Fortress Europa (though I have very fond memories of it from college days).

I look forward to getting "the guys" together to take another crack at Overlord and the Killing Ground again though...

Hey, we have a date (assuming I can get child care release; which should be able to happen as Martin will no longer be a new born obviously). It'd be great to get "you guys" down here some other time to, maybe gang up on the Fighting New England Winslows or something.

I'm not as keen as the next guy on it. It's decent fun, short time. ASL, You should be teaching me that with the starter kits next year at Carnage ;-)

Marc, I'm one of the contrarians that didn't like Combat Commander all that much. Maybe it's because I already follow the gourd of ASL. I'll play it, it's just not my favorite and in fact I sold my copy of CC:E to my neighbor.

I should be playing it soon. In both game that i played, it came down to split vitory, both games ended very close.

There is a Combat Commander Tournament at the end of April in Montreal. One day 9 to 5... Interested?
