I usually play multiplayer pbem game with a group of three friends by email that play wargames like me. We are playing from many years ago using Cyberboard and we are always playing one or two games among us.
Our last game finished was a game of Struggle of Empires. This game published by Warfrog and Eagle Games allows 2-7 players, although it suits better with 4 or more players. It isn't strictly a wargame because the players aren't eliminated but it has land and naval combat, including alliances with players and neutral factions.
In his turn, each player only has two actions and must choose among several available ones. It does very suitable for pbem gaming, with little interaction during your turn with another players. Also, alliance is include into rules so there is not too much downtime for diplomacy.
We finished yesterday our second play of SoE and during all game every player has options to get the victory until the end. It shows how fine is balanced this game and it liked to the group, that enjoyed the play. At the end, Prussia got the victory but it was only winning a land combat in Mediterranean against Spain, that also was defeated by Austria in Baltics. The image shows the end of the game with final scoring.
Now we are debating our next game: Here I Stand, Manifest Destiny, Age of Steam, 1830, 7 Ages, Campaigns of King David... it's so difficult!
