This game, 1936 Guerra Civil, published by Ediciones Rotura, is my last gamebox design. I met the designer, Arturo Garcia, during summer'07 in a con celebrated in Mollina (Malaga) and although I don't like specially card games this was the exception to the rule. I grab a copy in a store during the con and tell to the designer that I will help him to create the gamebox for Cyberboard. I guess he don't understand me what I was talikng about.
After holiday summer I contact him by email and tell him again about gamebox idea. I explained him how Cyberboard works and he agreed to begin the work to import the cards and boards of the game in a gamebox. He sent me several pdfs with the front and back image of the cards and the boards and I had it finished in two weeks. Then, there was several minor changes proposed by Arturo and it was finally released during October.
Inmediately, the forum of the game increase in messages posted. First, many users ask how cyberboard work and who was interested in play by email. After, many users begin to posted new questions abut the rules and the card play to the designer, questions was never before asked. As long more games was played by email, more questions and clarifications showed up. This shows how cyberboard help to the success of a game.
Also, the designer had in mind publish the game with +2000 cards but several issues did he finally publish it "only" with 256 cards, withouh air and naval units. He is very afraid to publish a expansion of the game (as many players requested) but... how about e-publish the complete game in the gamebox?
