Second game for my friend Luca and me.
I play the North he plays the South.
June 1862: Washington falls, the South wins.

I lost in a very stupid way.
I was very aggressive and tried to push through Cairo: I conquered Memphis and Nashville, but I didn't manage to go beyond and seriuosly threaten the South.
In the last three turn, Luca used very wisely a couple of crack units and conquered Baltimore. Then he finished Washington using reinforcements from Manassas Junction. Washington was poorly defended with 2 veteran and 2 militia units. The South attacked with 3 crack and 2 militia. I had other units too far from Washington, so when I realized what was happening I couldn't do nothing...
Probably my worst error was leaving a big stack of unused units in St. Louis: they could have been useful elsewhere.

Lesson learned (again): NEVER EVER leave Washington unguarded.

I definitely want to play again.

Experience counts for everything - you will be better prepared next time, as you have obviously learnt from your mistakes, and that is good.
