I love ASL, and I am really beginning to love ATS. Don't call me a heretic, but I think I like ATS better than ASL. I have converted one of the cooler ASL mini-campaign games to ATS, and am playing it to see what it is like. This mini-campaign came from the ASL Journal 93b. I enlarged the map to accomodate the larger ATS counters. I will post the converted scenarios and campaign game later. Since I have been watching the HBO series Pacific, I have been in a Pacific mood, so I decided to see what I could do with Gavutu-Tanambogo, two small islands that were secured as part of the Guadalcanal campaign in August 1942. I am just finished with the first turn. The first photo is the initial set up, with the Japanese positions on Gavutu and the 12 marine Landing craft staged.

The next photo is the results of turn 1. A bombing run took out a couple of bunkers, but not much else. That helped. The first wave of the Marines are making their way to the island.

This is going to be a tough fight. Stay tuned...

Brett, no need to apologize. If you need any reassurance, one of my good friends, Nadir El-Farra, has gone over to ATS from ASL. He did the original BARAQUE DE FRAITURE ASL scenario pack on the battles for Parker's Crossroads in the Battle of the Bulge; he also designed the OPERATION WATCHTOWER HASL module for MMP. I'm very familiar with both games and can easily understand the attractions of ATS as a series system. Your campaign shown here looks good--can't wait to see how this turns out!
