Mr.J and I will travel to Windsor, Ontario this summer to see the restoration of this famous British warbird. There is a long history of this plane, as it was purchased by the now-deceased uncle of one of Mr. J's friend who resides in the UK. Hopefully we will have an inside look-see.

A Lancaster was at the Willoughby, OH Lost Nation airshow a few years back, but due to a knee injury I was not able to have that look-see inside.

Sad to say there will be no airshow this year, the local paper cites "costs and the ecomomy", but I heard from a little birdie at the Civil Air Patrol that the manager of the airfield caused many problems and does not want to host the show.

What a shame!

I was able to tour the Canadian Lancaster at the Lost Nation Air Show a couple of years ago, and it was definitely worth the climb up the ladder. Every time I'm inside a World War II aircraft, one of the things that strikes me the most is just how small and cramped it is inside, claustrophobic in fact. The Lancaster was not exception.

The first two photos were taken from the website; airliners.net. This was from a a trip report; "Detroit Rock City".

This site has a lot of great information, I especially love the trip reports, as I dream about flying all over the world on day!
