I think around 92 percent traditionally vote democratic anyway, so not sure his race really mattered that much. Frankly, I think that says something even worse, but I'm not certain what. And I still think PB is a nut.

I gave up on the idea of ever collecting SSI. I just view it as more income tax.

Hell, even the Israelis have worked with Iran (during the Iran-Iraq war). I have met and spoken to high Israeli officers in Israel who were secretly sent to Iran (who do you think supplied Iran with spares for their US military equipment?)

And yes, cigars are important

But don't forget about the cigars, dammit!

The embargo is just silly and vengeful and a few decades ago Cuba was no less democratic than the US friends in Latin America. Refusing to deal with Iran is also silly. You seem to forget that you don't make peace with your friends, but with your enemies. In fact, you already "cooperate" in Iraq and Lebanon where the pro-western governments cooperate with the shiite organisations. I have been pro-Israeli for 36 years but I'm wise enough to know that if Israel is ever going to get peace with its neighbours Iran has to be involved.

I sure hope things change!

It's not the JFK and LBJ wings of the Party -- It's the wing to the left, guys like George McGovern and Gene McCarthy (whom I otherwise liked in some ways). Even going back to the fifties, the Democrats were very sensitive to charges of being "soft on Communism." As a result, one can argue, they sometimes overreacted in order to act tough.

"There's FDR. There's JFK. And there may be Barack Obama."
Yeah, not so much as it turns out.

Schumer was just on FNC and said Obama didn't want to have rhetorical flourishes because times are so serious. Who would have thought that people would have to spin for Obama's speech making skills?

Oh, the Dow is down 338 and below 8.000.

Hope and Change indeed.

Actually, I favor lifting the embargo on Cuba as well (though not so much the Iran thing). Politics aside, I want the cigars!
