I've got something in beta that will serve as a daily information source for CSW and also look to cover tidbits coming from other sources (forum, BGG, etc.) -- hence the name, forward observer. Again, I'm just kicking the tires for now to see how much more quickly I can post news stories and to see if I can easily keep it up on a daily basis. If I can and it gets some legs under it, I'll consider it as a permanent fixture later.....

I like this "CSW Digest" approach. Frankly, I'd even suggest you call it that as it'd directly communicate this website's function.

I can see me checking this out on a somewhat regular basis, whereas I basically never look at the CSW frontpage. The layout of the new FORWARD OBSERVER is simply far more inviting (clean & uncluttered (kinda the Google approach), not too much text, images loosen things up, and above all: double-column).

Frankly, couldn't this make the CSW FRONTPAGE redundant?

I could see this new feature replacing it, though I'd then prefer all permanent links to not be located on the margins, but be all listed on a separate WIKI-esque Links page.

Then I'd also welcome a consistent and clean CSW toppage tab-row from which to access all CSW sites. The CSW frontpage has that, but this fails to be carried through in the same manner to other CSW sections. To me, having such a uniform topbar whereever you'd happen to be in the CSW-verse would give the section a hereto lacking unity. And it'd also be simply practical - particularly if it were combined with one login that carries from one section to the other.

Sorry, got carried a bit away with outlining some changes I'd like to see.

BTW, why don't you implement also a cross-CSW avatar with annual patron tokens shown under that avatar as on BGG? Bring it in line with BGG's $15 and I could see many more making it a habit to donate here and match their BGG donation if they have one.

Then add a year-end donation drive with a benchmark to reach and have that at the top of all sites (in that topbar I spoke of earlier).

These are all the sorta ways that contribute to people wanting to donate. Just a thought.
