The National Post in Canada has presented some really remarkable coverage of Afghanistan over the last few years, some of which I've passed along here.  Today, the paper looks back at Canada's long war in the country, as the Canadian combat role comes to an end.  The result is one of the best articles that I've ever seen on the war, in any media outlet.

Written by Brian Hutchison and illustrated with Richard Johnson's excellent drawings, The Long Road is essential reading.  It's a bit longer than what one is likely to find in the mainstream media, and incorporates a lot more detail, including about the units involved.

I cannot recommend this work highly enough.
