I feel like I'm losing part of my arm with the forum going down. It has become a staple of my life. Well, we hope the upgrade goes well and I thought I'd set-up this blog so folks can share what they will be doing between now and when the forum is back online in a few days (based on our schedule if all goes according to plan). Keep in mind we have the webinar tonight per our news desk announcement, as well as our live chat session tonight that immediately follows it.

Anyone doing gaming now or over the weekend? I may have a chance to play SPI's Operation Star Saturday morning if I can break away prior to my son's 5th birthday party.

Yup...that was a typo. Sorry about that. We are testing now and I have some config work to do this evening as well. Right now I am rebuilding and working on the search index, and plan to also troubleshoot this as we've had issues in the past with search. I'm also testing the reset password functionality on CSW Forum as there have been past reports it does not work properly. Hoping the new version will resolve that issue.

>At this point, things are looking good that we will be back online no later than Friday morning!!

John, you're a miracle worker:

Lt. Commander Geordi La Forge:   Look, Mr. Scott, I'd love to explain everything to you, but [Rothberg] wants this [upgrade] done by 1300 hours.

[La Forge goes back to work; Scotty follows slowly]

Scotty:   Do you mind a little advice? [CSW members] are like children. They want everything right now and they want it their way. But the secret is to give them only what they need, not what they want.

Lt. Commander Geordi La Forge:   Yeah, well, I told [Rothberg] I'd have this [upgrade] done in an hour.

Scotty:   How long will it really take?

Lt. Commander Geordi La Forge:   An hour!

Scotty:   Oh, you didn't tell him how long it would *really* take, did ya?

Lt. Commander Geordi La Forge:   Well, of course I did.

Scotty:   Oh, laddie. You've got a lot to learn if you want people to think of you as a miracle worker.

Excellent News !  I'm currently setting up S&T#264 "The Battle of Shiloh" -the stand-alone game (ie: NOT part of their "Musket and Saber Folio series game"). Simple Easy, and in True Decision Games-fashion plagued with a lot of little graphics' problems (such as mispinted countes, counters lacking names on them, etc).

Still a fun little system, on par with the old Blue & Gray game. Actually, this will be the 3rd time I've played it: one Union win and One Confederate win, It's got a Very Nice map, with usable, uncluttered Elevations (anyone remeber RHBerg's South Mountain System "Shiloh" ? I truly like that system and game, but the map coud have been done in a more use fiendly manner.)

If there were a "Like" button on the Status Update, I'd hit it. Uh, wait, that could be taken the wrong way.

I assume "not testing" means "now testing"?

Errata already. :)

STATUS UPDATE: Good news. Import successful. We are now testing configurations and running other tests on the forum to make sure everything is okay. At this point, things are looking good that we will be back online no later than Friday morning!!

Just finished up a game of Storm over Stalingrad.  Figuring out War with a Vengeance (ATO mini-game) now.

STATUS UPDATE: Not much new to report. The import is still processing (including all file attachments) and we are on hour #9. It is still running. We are going to check back in the morning and see where the import prices stands.
