Have you received an e-mail (Pre-Order Payment)?

Guys,

The replacement maps for Ici, c'est la France! have arrived. All components are now in house and the kitting of the games will commence on Monday. I hope to have the first batch of games going out on Thursday, Aug 27th, with all games being shipped by the 31st.

There are still 70+ Pre-Orders for which I have not received payment. If you Pre-Ordered the game through Legion Wargames, or through Khyber Pass Games, you should have received an email with a link to the Pre-Order Payment Page. If for any reason you did not receive that email here is the link to that page. If you never Pre-Ordered the game but would like to purchase it now at the 20% off price you can simply proceed to the page, no need to officially Pre-Order at this point.

Hey Steve! Good to hear. I hope you will enjoy the system.

I just read that General Stanley McChrystal has delivered new guidelines for the troops in Afghanistan. Basically it says that the war is unwinnable if you only chase and kill the Talibans. If you kill a Taliban then five of his relatives will join them instead. So, instead of just military actions, he is advocating showing respect to the Afghanis and their property, not primarly because it is the right thing to do but rather in order to avoid creating new recruits for the Talibans.

In Ici, this is represented by the fact that it costs operation points to conduct counterinsurgency (which is what McChrystal is doing) which leaves less points for military actions. In other words, insurgency / counterinsurgency draw from the same "pool" of resources / political will as military actions do. You can't do both to the full extent, you have to find a balance between these two choices.

Thanks!
I'm sure that you will receive one soon. If you have any questions, though, regarding the mail, please send it to Randy Lein (randy@legionwargames.com).

"...win the hearts and minds..." - that's funny. But I'll be interested in seeing how the system works.
