What a great game. I never played it as a kid but my son persuaded me to buy a copy and we have been doing battle ever since.

Roger, I had never heard of that one. My first "wargame" was a simple game, "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" in the middle 60s. I remember my mother playing it with me.

A good and easy game to start on. I never had this game as a kid, but I had something similar called Aviation, it had slightly different rules but the general concept was the same http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/10782/aviation-the-aerial-ta...

That copy we are using is my old one from about 1970. Plastic but old plastic.

I still play that game with my son and he will be 13 in July. I played it as kid myself in the 60s. I remember the pieces being made out of wood!

It was his idea. One of the things that motivated me to get back into wargaming was teaching it to my kids. Hopefully, something will take.
