Need Help Finding Books on Poland 1939

I am looking for reading material on the invasion of Poland in 1939. So far, I have read Blitzkrieg Unleashed and Poland Betrayed (both Stackpole books). They are both predominantly written from the German perspective and only give the broad strokes of the campaign with a few personal anecdotes and journal entries to give the "personal feel".

What I am after are more detailed accounts of the battles, hopefully with a map or two, and I'd like to get a Polish perspective for a change. I am filling in gaps in my knowledge on the interwar years and the opening days of WWII. The defense of Poland has caught my attention and I want to know more. Any suggestions?

Aneliya (in case you check back here) - thank you for the email. I have added the "Polska 1939-1945" book to my list.

Hello Kai ~ I am currently playing the 1939 Polish campaign at the tactical level ( AH Panzerblitz). I research the battles and develop the scenarios as close as possible to the historical battle.

I get most of my info (maps and TOE's) online from Feldgrau and Axis History Forum.

The scenario book White Eagles (Panzergrenadier) is another good source.

The Osprey campaign book Poland 1939 has good tactical level info for the Warsaw battles.

Good luck!

Again the German view but Erich von Manstein's Lost Victories provides some insight as well.

Yeah, it's the Polish perspective and the smaller scale AARs that are giving me fits in trying to locate them! :0(

Osprey is a good start, but as for a book with a Polish perspective, now that could be quite a challenge. I will have a look in some places for you.
