German drive in the north blunted... in the south, fluidity!!!

HQ fought off the attack and the Soviet pocket was eliminated... however, the Germans lost a lot of tanks in the process.

Soviets have an opportunity to eliminate a German HQ. This attack would put the spearhead which is breaking through, into isolation. However, it would leave a few divisions vulnerable to eventual counterattack and the rest of the line awfully thin. German 46th PanzerKorps will be at the gates of Klin in two days no matter what. Is it worth the risk to stop the 40th PanzerKorps in its tracks?

What do you think? What would you do?

I decided on the Tula assault and leave the flanking move for the one map scenario...

Rest of the info and pics will be continued in the AAR folder.

In that way, russians could retreat rapidly to the north (as fas as I could remember).

I prefered to fix them by attacking and destroying some units each GT, permitting the 53th Inf corps (not sure of the designation) to join the road leading northway to Tula, surrounding it and captured it. And wide spaces for the panzers ! It's just my point of view.

Also Nathan reminded me that using up 24 PzKorps Accelerated Assault would erase the OOS effects of the first turn. That might make it worth trying the direct attack on 'Little Moscow'...
