It was a fiction kind of weekend for me. Well, that and Buffalo Wild Wings, Starbucks, Barnes and Noble, repairing Jessica's window screens (dog damage), dragging an indoor tropical plant to its final place of rest in the forest surrounding our house (cat damage), and watching most of the Daytona 500...sort of enjoyed that, after I got past FOX's annoying habit of calling 43 stock car jockeys the greatest drivers in the world...PUHLEEEEESE... I'd like to see Waltrip's little brother race Kubica on the streets of Monaco.

Nevertheless, I spent a lot of time on The Rising. You see, I received an email Friday from a guy who actually reads my fiction blog, so I was pumped (I'm up to four readers, now!).

I just posted another excerpt from early in the story. In it you'll meet Katarina, who has been in LnLP pop culture since the beginning. She's a sharp-looking lady with some unique talents. Also introduced is Oberleutnant Michael Koch of the Territorialheer. Koch and his platoon of reservists are the last organized resistance in Soviet-occupied Eisenbach. We join him as he prepares to ambush a Soviet convoy on the Eisenbach Bridge. This all happens in hex V3 on the Eisenbach Gap board for those of you who are following along in your board game hymnals. Click here to read more.
