Hi John, Thanks for the reply. I did not know there were add on packs for Steel Panthers, so I must have a search to see if i can find them. It is great you are still in the game design area, and i have seen Levee en Masse at the VPG site (I  frequently visit the VPG site as I do like their games), so I will look forward to seeing Keep Up The Fire! released.

Roger - talk about a late reply :-)  I just rediscovered this thread and your question - I worked with Novastar Games and Dave Landrey for another four years after the original Steel Panthers came out in 1995.  I worked on a number of add-on scenario packs for Steel Panthers through Novastar Games including the first efforts at a Mega Campaign.  I had the opportunity to work on Age of Rifles for SSI as well.  The computer wargame business has changed dramatically in the last 15 years that's for sure :-)

Like you, I've been a teacher for the past 25 years including a now 10 year part-time gig as an adjunct faculty at AMU.  A year and a half ago, I started doing design work for Victory Point Games which featured the release of my first boardgame - Levee en Masse.  My second game should be going out to playtesters soon - it's called Keep Up the Fire! and it's a game on the Boxer Rebellion in China in the summer of 1900.

Thanks for asking and sorry for the delay.

Saxon, I was aware, and thanks for posting those excellent links.
You are absolutely spot on with your comment of:
"These are surely the best battalion level computer wargames out there..."

This brings back memories for me - I worked on the original Steel Panthers back in 1995-96 - I did half of the scenarios that came with the initial release. I've continued to be amazed at how long the game has remained in circulation - particularly given the average 'life' of computer games.
