So, has anyone taken the plunge (or planning to) and ordered any instock games from GMT during their 50% sale?

If so, what have you ordered or plan to order?

I bought Fading Glory and No Retreat North Africa. Not much else really caught my eye that was in stock.

That was a great deal. I bought two games. Well, to be accurate, one game and one expansion of another game.

I missed the sale by a few days, but emailed GMT and they let me manually place an order with a 50% discount (better than the 35% I get from Coolstuffinc). I choose next War Korea (expensive game so more discount), Blood & Roses, and Panzer Expansion 1. I had mentioned beng interested in a panzer reprint, and was told they had 2 copies left and would sell me 1 for $72. This is great sinc ehey sell on Ebay auctions for between $105 and $175 dollars.

Despite choosing economy shipping, the games were delivered by airmail within 2 weeks to Australia. Did somebody make a mistake at GMT? Anyway, I was very happy with my purchases.

I got Ran, Hoplite, and Blood & Roses. The new miniatures rules, Ronin, from Osprey/Slitherine has gotten me interested in Japanese warfare. Ancient players have been waiting a long time for something like Hoplite. I found Men of Iron to be just OK, but the OBs and terrain for the War of the Roses battles have always been unclear, and I often buy games for all the research that goes into them (intellectual property). Yes, I have too many unplayed games, and yes, I tried to resist the temptation.

I agree Wayne, all the unplayed games I have are indeed a pile of potential, but my unplayed games vastly outnumber played, which is why I tried to put a ban on buying new games this year. But between the GMT sale and buying Blood & Roses, that ban has failed.

The upside is that I feel I have more than enough in my collection that I do not need much more, not unless silly sales or a game becomes available in a period which fascinates me, like the ones above.

Such is the fun of wargaming - collecting then playing, at some point...ha ha ha

I always look at my un-played pile as potential. If I did not make the call to buy then I may have missed a game I would like later on. I am excited about my purchases and hope to find time this summer to really get into some of the games that are un-played at this point.

I guess. There was one last year too. And the regular fall sale means everything I buy not on 
preorder is 50% off (at least), from GMT. Adding three more games to the unplayed pile
didn't seem that necessary.

Tried very hard to resist. The big pile of unplayed games should have kept me in check,
but I just couldn't manage.

Will be getting Iron & Oak, Rebel Raiders, and the France '40 Combat Commander expansion.
The first two will probably end up in the sale bin someday, but I just couldn't hold off
for the double bonus of some future sale.
