I feel like the learning curve on the GTS system is huge.

.

Through many hours of gameplay I've now worked through seven scenarios [the first Learning scenario, then the six Introductory scenario], and am onto my first Intermediate-level scenario, and I still feel like I'm wrapping my head around many of the rules, and making the occasional silly rules-mistake. I feel it's worth it though, the tactical considerations I'm making in the current scenario are far advanced of where I was even just several days ago, and the system facilitates some great narratives

There's just so much to the game system, especially with the larger situations where the command system shines.  The agony of deciding how many dispatch points to spend on purchasing formation chits for this turn at a higher cost versus a lower one for next...whether or not to depend on command points to solve a crisis if deciding to economize on dispatch points, and so much more.  The game gives you the illusion of being able to plan and coordinate your forces, but the uncertainty of chit pulls and the vagaries of the turn conspire to undo even the best laid plans.  Love the whole experience!
