Here's another composite image of the situation at 3pm, 1 July, 1863. Rodes' Division has struck against the Iron Brigade (and Wadsworth's Division in general) north of Gettysburg. Initially Cutler's brigade on the left attempted to hold their position against Rebel shock attacks, but, they lost three out of four results (shock combat really favours the attacker); and so the Iron Brigade decided to withdraw before shock combat instead of risking losses. They'll slowly pull back to the town hexes where they receive a -2 defensive modifier on shock combat (should help them a little bit).
The Rebels are also flanking around to the right, and Early's Division is getting into position to strike against the eastern side of Gettysburg.
In the west, the position has remained fairly static. The Union forces along here have relatively low cohesion ratings, and are falling into disorder, but they're rallying well, and good fields of fire among their massed units have halted the Rebel advance in this area...for now...
