I have never played an area movement game, so maybe you two can provide your pros and cons for it? it may be something I might want to get my teeth into one day

TRIAL OF STRENGTH--that's a good one. Hope you can locate a copy. I've got LIBERTY ROADS but haven't played it yet; sure looks good!. SPI's BATTLE FOR STALINGRAD isn't bad but I got so hooked on AH's old TURNING POINT: STALINGRAD I ended up playing a lot more of that instead. John Schettler's WINTER STORM and LAST VICTORY series were games I played a great deal of back in the day, but the designs would be considered a bit "clunky" or "baroque" today given the likes of MMP's Operational Combat Series which is probably the closest thing in terms of scale and emphasis on logistics. Plus there's GMT's BACKHAND BLOW and the older VICTORY LOST games which are just as good as THE LAST VICTORY. My favorite, also long out of print, was Peoples War Games DUEL FOR KHARKHOV--that was the best game on the subject for me.

Hope you find these all and get to play them!
