Want to learn how to play Empire of the Sun?

Hey, ya'll -- I'm creating a series of Vassal logs teaching how to play Empire of the Sun.  If interested, send me your e-mail address and I'll add you to the Drop Box.
Does CSW have e-mails?  I'm still trying to figure out how to maneuver over here.  If not, send me a Geekmail at BGG (user: airjudden).

I learned how to play Empire of the Sun by reading the rule book and than playing with an experienced player who cut me very little slack. I much prefer Mark Hermans earlier Pacific War . Now that as close to a masterpiece as it gets (for me anyways).

I had a chance to win Empire of the Sun on the last turn (played the Americans). On a ten sided die I had 90% chance. I lost! Lol

I would only rate this game as meh. I could be talked into playing it again but it would require a persistent friend. I'm not a big CDG fan and this game had a lot of cards I didn't like. My opponent played (major Axis victory in Europe) in both of the first 2 turns and followed up with (minor Axis victory in Europe) on turn 3. Every single time I had a card that allowed me multiple operations he had a card to block one of them.

I won pretty much all the Naval battles but combat is at such a zoomed out strategic level that it was just count the factors and roll the dice. A little to zoomed out to really enjoy (for me anyhow).  I did enjoy when I got the card that allowed me to pull off a Midway style ambush on him, I did it with the Royal Navy in the Indian Ocean though.

Anyhow, enjoy the game. I apologize if my mini AAR, Review was out of place here.

John, I'm as green as green can be on CSW.

I tried my first forum post on Victoria's Cross (knock on wood).  Does this site have an in-site e-mail system, so folks don't have to post their e-mail addresses on public forums?  I don't want the spam bots to grab them.

Thanks.

Judd, when you can -- I'd post a message on the Empire of the Sun folder to let everyone know. Thanks for doing this. Forum link is here:  http://talk.consimworld.com/WebX/.1dcdfa8d
