Warmap is an object orientated map creator program for hexagon based wargames. Think MacDraw rather than MacPaint. The program runs under Windows 7 and is probably OK under Vista and XP.
The following type of Map objects are supported, area, bezier (line),Text, icon (image), hexside, hex filling.
Everything is editable either by dragging on the map or from a properties window.
All features of the hexgrid (grain, rows, columns, shape, color, line width background color/image) are editable.
The program is primarily meant to support my wargame programming but I could see making it available to the public if there's enough interest.
Feature wise version 0.50 is pretty complete, other than the lack of an output function. I would love to hear some suggestions on how to improve it. It can be downloaded from here Down load War Map 0.50

Here's the link to 0.51. New map creation should work much better in this version and a very useful {alt} key method of extending lines has been added (see help).
Comment by Roger Morley on January 28, 2013 at 8:38am No problem Thomas, and I will download 5.1 to try it out.
i downloaded 5.0 on my PC at work, but as yet the Gods of Work have not yet granted me any free time yet to try it...lol.
Thanks Roger, I'll be posting 0.51 this evening as I found a couple of UI things that could be done better after I started making a real map rather than just testing the program.
