I haven't played anything for a while except UP FRONT, which I brought with me to Afghanistan and the new version of "A House Divided" that I ordered while I was there. Looking to get back into gaming and planning to pick up Conflict of Heroes, Lock n' Loads WWII Tactical series, L4's BITTER WOODS and anything else that looks like fun.
I find that the XBox and PS games require too much work on my part for the amount of time I will spend doing those - too much to do and too little time to manage! (LOL). Both of my boys do those far better than me. Are there any good board Zombie games?
This semester, I spent a class teaching about wargaming, and I sent everyone the pdf files for my Rommel at Gazala game.
Did you make mention of CSW in your class? We need young blood :-)
Actually, I use ConsimWorld quite regularly. I show my profile, I tell them about posts and blogs that have some historical merit, and I used Jon Compton's work on www.smallwarsjournal.com as examples of quantitative analysis with value. Both of my La Roche College classes certain knew what ConsimWorld is.
Andreas, thanks for the comments on my game collection. I've been accumulating them since 1974 (when I first convinced my mom to buy me a copy of Tactics II). I've been meaning to take some more photos to show off more details of the collection.
To answer your question, I do usually have a table in there for solitaire gaming. When I have friends over though, we generally set up in the adjacent living space down in the basement. We had a massive flooding last summer, but the good news is that we got to re-model down there, lay down new hardwood floors, erect a wine cellar, etc. (and my games were fortunately all spared!).
