Denny, Life in the USA with the name Uwe can be a challenge. I usually get called a female sheep - Ewe, some anatomical body part like Ovary, some exclamation of total bliss - oooohh, ooohhva, or just hey u! :) Mit den Mexikanern geht es ganz einfach, da auf Spanisch Ova ein Wort ist! Aber in meiner Fussball Mannschaft nennen sie mich immer noch "Pan Blanco"!

My former mother in law fled the Red Army out of Konigsberg in late 44-early 45. Story is sort of vague but interesting in some of the details.

Denny,

Thanks a lot! Good luck with the Site overhaul- that can be a time-consuming venture. I'd be glad to pass on updated info regarding FG whenever you're ready.

Thanks- Byron

Denny, a LOOONG time ago, you posted an announcement regarding our game, Frontline General, on your site. I remember that and appreciate it. We've made it a long way since then, the game is now out as a production version and free print&play version, and we're promoting it at several conventions in the US. Glad to find you on here!

I like your website. If you ever need help proofreading the English translations, I'd be useful. I wish I knew more German--and plan to study it--but right now couldn't help with the translation part. Of course, since your main focus is to provide a German language resource, I realize translation is not your priority :)

Funny... my gaming life is in relapse... I have played hex based games since 1983... friends moved away or on to other things, now I am back in college, and my new friends 18-23 years old don't know the classics... Guns of August, Russian Front, Flat Top... computer games like East Front-West Front-Rising Sun from Talonsoft... Panzer General I,II,III. Was your relative on the Bismark? or the pocket battleship sunk in Montevideo harbor?

Very cool boards... for me its a hobby, here in this part of Wisconsin, few play these games unless they are a group of school buddies.

Aha! You tracked it down! lol

I don't claim to have reached professional standards yet. Having said that, it has been read by a number of friends who liked it (which doesn't mean much), but also by a few people unknown to me who also enjoyed it, so that's more encouraging. I hope you're not too much of a conservative, because ultimately it's a bit of a leftist rant - though it's mostly well hidden :)

Anyway, send me your address and I'll get one in the post for you.
