Thank you for taking the time to write up and post pics from BGG.CON! It looks like so much fun that Chad and I are now debating adding it to our "must attend" convention list.
My "little" guy is 15 and is taller than me already (which took some work!) and can whoop my behind in wargames some days. I came home from work all summer to find him reading rulebooks with maps on the game table ready to go. Such a proud Mom moment! :0)
Hi again, Cindy. I enjoyed your ORIGINS pictures. Also the Stalingrad playtesting that Steve conducted. Are you planning on attending ROC-CON? If there was interest in playing some of the games I've recently purchased, I was thinking of attending.
I ran a workshop at a conference in Appleton last year. Is that far from you?
I did attend, Gen Smith was still in charge then. I was none to happy at first, but I am glad I stuck it out. It's a great school. I just met some folks that were thinking about sending there son. I think I made up there mind to do it. I know they will be pleased.
I have CC on my wish list for my birthday.(fingers crossed) but with times being a little tough for folks It woild be much appreciated if you bring yours just in case.
My Birthday is the 20th, so I 21st wont work. The 28th, would work for sure for me, though. Also I started a Wisconsin gamers group here, feel free to join.
Hello I am from the Milwaukee area, I know Racine.Kenosha pretty well as I have allot of family there. I occasionaly play 1/32nd on the beach near Highway 11. Had a group playing at a private home for years, but job relocations and general life changes ended the group. I have heard quite a bit about Combat Commander, Id like to try it. I'd like to attend a event at Rockheads. See you there.
Yes, Steve was wonderful to sit down and talk to. He also showed a few of us his next venture which he says will be in the stores in September--I think it's called Fires of Midway and is a card-based Midway game that looked like a lot of fun. Incidentally, if you're more into solitare games, you might want to check out RAF: The Battle of Britain 1940. John Butterfield has updated this game so that it now includes separate rules for you to play either the Germans OR the British solitaire, plus a version to play an opponent f-to-f. The play displays are pretty spectacular. Can't wait to get into this one. On most of the gamestore sights, it's still in pre-production status, but you should be able to pick it up soon (and pay a lot less than I did!!).
Hi, Cindy. I must have just missed you at Origins, or maybe you were one of the backs I saw playing Combat Commander! I was wondering what your impression of Storm over Stalingrad was. I have that on my "give a serious lookover" list and I noticed on your Origins post that you watched it being played. I think the other Stalingrad game, Hell of Stalingrad, is moving to my "must buy" list.
I saw your posts on BGG - sounds like you had a great time! Did you get to meet Smitty and Katie? I know they dropped by for a short time one day. (I have NO idea how large Origins is, so if that's a dumb question then just forget I asked it...)
I'd like to personally invite you all to read a full preview (13Mb PDF link) of our new fast-playing (30 minutes) tactical WWII card game, Frontline General: Spearpoint 1943 in our newsletter. I'm happy to announce that we've just passed the 200 p…
I've found the internal debate (i.e. the debate in my head) has been to either play a lot of games poorly or a few games well. I prefer the latter model, but then you must, as you say, find that set of holy grail games that one chooses to become goo…
Chris:
Really - that's a good point. I wonder if the Audi folks realized the message they were sending out with this one. I doubt if anyone found it funny in the least.

I've recently printed and built "To the Last Man." I was able to play the game and get an idea of its look and feel beforehand thanks to BGG and Cyberboard. It's an excellent game, one well worth the bother.
I _hope_ it is just by unfortunate accid…
Yes, this was a creepy ad. I looked at the Audi website to compare this car to others. Oddly enough, you are unable to compare it to the VW SportWagon TDI, which gets exactly the same mileage.
Lately, I've been mad at Newsweek, due to issues of bias that are beyond the realm of this group. However, tonight I read a very good article on its web site, regarding layoffs.I was once in a meeting at a former employer, and we were going over th…
